Truth Proof Report 304 ~ lights in the sky

Portaferry, Northern Ireland II ~ 2006

Hi Paul, Don

Just thought I'd share a couple more strange experiences I've had regarding Nugent's estate here in Portaferry. These involve a couple of strange lights I observed.

The first happened around 20 years ago, when I was out walking with a couple of friends. I'm not sure of the month but it was definitely winter as the trees were completely bare.

There is a path which runs adjacent to Nugent's estate that connects with a National trust woodland and we were out for our nightly dander. As we were approaching the highest point on our walk, the top of a small hill, I spotted a light right above me.

At first I thought it was above the trees, but quickly realised it was moving through the branches of the trees. I'd estimate it was about the size of a large grapefruit and about 60 foot up. The most amazing thing was how it was quickly manoeuvring between the bare barren branches. It was almost like a playful dance, as if it was enjoying itself. It was so bright yet didn't light up the surrounding twigs and branches. It was almost as if the light was shining in on itself.

It was mostly white but there was a slight blue tinge as well. I was so mesmerised I only yelled at my mates when it was too late and they missed it. After it had finished zigging and zagging through the trees it found open air and I quickly lost sight of it as it moved down the far side of the hill.

I found myself smiling and happy and there was nothing scary about the experience, in fact it was completely joyful. I know some of your guests have felt fear with some lights but this was the complete opposite. It was amazing.

My second experience happened I'd say about 2019/20. It was winter again and around 5 or 6am.

I had went to the cash machine in the square in Portaferry and was returning home, only a 5 minute walk. My house is only 100 yards from the boundary wall of Nugent's estate and from quite a bit of Portaferry you can look onto the estate. As I rounded the corner onto the top of Anne Street, which has a great view onto Nugent's, I spotted a bright light above the field closest to the boundary wall. I'd say it was around 2 or 3 hundred yards away and about 80 or 100 feet above the field.

Difficult to estimate a size, but I'd say maybe the size of 2 pillows laid end to end. The shape was like a rugby ball on its side, incredibly bright white, but once again a self contained light. I could see no object within the light, just the light. It was travelling perfectly horizontally above the field at quite a speed.

Once again its very difficult to estimate but I'd reckon around 60 or 80mph. I'm getting this estimate because the field is right beside the road into Portaferry and watching cars entering and exiting the town at speed, gives me a fair idea.

Now comes the most interesting part, and it's going to be so difficult to put into words. And I've never seen it in any footage or heard it described in any reports. As it travelled perfectly horizontally I could perceive a pause in its speed at regular intervals. So slight but definitely there. Only for a fraction of a second but definitely noticeable. Maybe every 30 yards or so it would slow minutely then speed up then slow minutely then speed up. This went on for the 4 or 5 hundred yards I saw it. It was just weird and amazing.

This sighting was not like the first. When I got home I was shaking for hours wondering what I had just seen. I reported it to an Irish ufo site at the time. It was amazing but not particularly pleasant at all.

I told a few people but quickly learned to keep my mouth shut because of the laughter and ridicule.

Anyhow, just a couple of my small experiences in and around Portaferry.

Many thanks,

Martin

Paul: Again thanks Martin for you detailed reports. Interesting the juddering effect you noticed with the second sighting. Almost as if it were struggling to hold on to our reality. But who knows.....?
