Hi Paul,
I hope this email finds you well.
Thank you for your request for more information regarding my experience on Truth Proof live (28/06).
I’ve never told anybody else about my experience that I had for fear of ridicule, but I decided to open up within the YouTube chat, at your request for timeslip experiences. I don’t know how to correctly classify my experience, but what I experienced was damn right strange.
I’ll detail below what I can substantially remember, but I’ll try to refrain from embellishing the experience, because then I run the risk of creating false elements
. My experience happened during late 1999 or early 2000, I was travelling down the Sheffield Parkway. It was a clear early morning, on my way for another day at work. Mentally, I was prepared for another routine day, there were no major events happening in my life so mentally, I was ‘plodding along’.
I saw a car coming towards me in the opposite direction (in the opposite carriage way). What caught my eye initially was that the car was the same make and model and colour (It was a red Rover 216), but it also had the same number plate…Surprised, I was now drawing parallel with the other car I noticed that it had the same colour driver side door (My car had previously been in an accident and had the door replaced by the previous owner but never resprayed – I got it cheap!). The driver’s side door was a darker red than the rest of the car (Burgundy).
At that moment, I was in shock. I glanced at the driver of the other car and he looked back at me, it was me!!!! – it was like a mirror, the other ‘me’ had their mouth open in a gasp (I guess I did as well) and we momentarily stared at each other as we passed in amazement.
I have thought often what could have triggered this experience: Hallucination, time-slip, doppelgänger, or even ‘A glitch in the Matrix’. I’ve never experienced anything strange after this encounter (afer all these years) and my mental health was fine, so I don’t think it was an hallucination. If it was a time slip, then I’m assuming, since I was travelling in the opposite direction, I was returning from work, so I would have thought I would have produced some form of mental after effect on me (I’m not sure what is the correct direction of the cause-and-effect relationship), but I don’t think I did. So, I move onto the doppelgänger theory – If that was the case, I feel sorry for the other me having to drive that bag of rubbish, that car was awful! It leaves the glitch in the matrix or a peep into the multiverse. Again, I feel I little disheartened and would have liked to see the other me driving an Aston Martin – just to get that warm feeling, that another me (at the time) had made different choices in life, but then again, would I have noticed that it was me driving it?
Thank you for taking the time to listen to my experience.
Kind Regards
Brett
Paul: Thank you Brett. We do not get many reports like this. It sounds most unnerving. The fact that you noticed the different coloured door really brings it home!
