Truth Proof Report 297 ~ lights in the sky and craft.

South Yorkshire 1998

Hi Paul,

My name is Lindsey Beech. I'm 49 years old and have had a few odd experiences in my lifetime, but today I'd like to talk to you about the summer of 1997 (or possibly 1998). I was around 20 to 21 years old at this time, and just about every night my friend and I would go into Doncaster or Wadworth for a night out. Even if we had no cash, we would drive around, laughing and basically enjoying the summer.

One night, or rather, early morning (we would make our way home anywhere between 12 and 5 AM!), as we came around the last bend of Wadworth and started to make our way towards Tickhill, we noticed what looked to me like a motorbike headlight behind us (my uncle used to do up and ride old Triumph motorbikes; this is what I at first recognised the light as).

It gained on us rather fast, but then we realised it was in the field to our left. We were extremely puzzled as to how a bike was traveling so fast in a field. Then, in the blink of an eye, there were two lights, so we thought, "Oh, maybe a 4x4 in the field," although still rather strange as we were so late we had not seen any other traffic. And the lights reminded me of old Mini Metro lights (my dad had a Mini when I was younger).

Then the lights got to the side of the car we were in, and they were totally independent lights on their own. They were bright white, had a slight glow, but didn't light anything up! We felt very unnerved and continued towards Tickhill. We were nearly at Tickhill when they just vanished!

Throughout the next few months, up to, I'd say, mid-August, we saw the lights almost every time we came down the road, and it was as if we got so used to them they didn't scare us—sometimes 2, sometimes 3, and often 4. Sometimes they were straight with us the whole road to Tickhill at the side of us, and sometimes they dipped up and down in a wave-type dance. I'd go as far as saying in a playful manner.

Anyway, at some point that summer, I started working in a pub in Tickhill, and after work one evening in mid-August, I was going to stay at my mum and dad's in Stainton (near Maltby). My dad picked me up. It was dark but a lovely summer evening.

We headed towards Stainton. My dad, a big music lover, had a CD on, and we were chatting away, the windows down, the smell of summer and crops in the air. It was still warm, a really nice night. When we turned towards Stainton, we both stopped talking, and we both were looking up towards something we did not recognise (we were on a bend before the Brave Men Monument for men who had died in a tunnel under that road in a pit collapse). I said, "Can you see that?" to my dad. Dad pulled over and stopped the car.

Total silence. Whatever this was in the sky was making no noise at all.

I saw what I think might be an average church-height, a large, orange UFO. I have no better words for it.

I would describe its shape as one of those flat-bottomed ice cream cones with a protruding ring about three-quarters of the way up, like a gallery of some sort. I cannot remember seeing any doors or windows, but it was large! There was absolutely no sound around us at all. We looked at each other, and my dad said, "Get in the car, we will have a better view from around the bend." We set off. It was only a few seconds, but it just totally vanished. There was no sign of it, yet we had both seen it. After that, my friend and I also never saw the lights again between Wadworth and Tickhill, which makes me wonder if they were related in any way?

Thanks for taking the time to read this any questions please get in touch

Lindsey

Paul: Thank you Lindsey for such an atmospheric and gripping description of your adventures.
