Amelia was never alone in her flat

I'm a fairly new subscriber to your YouTube channel and I'm so glad you have a place for people to share their experiences!

Mine happened in 2019, South East London. Myself and my then-husband (we'll call him Joe) had just moved into a new flat.

From the first day, there was an odd vibe which I just chalked up to being in a new and unfamiliar home. There were a few small incidents, but all were typical "corner of the eye" sightings that I don't generally take any notice of. Always in the hallway.

The first incident of note happened very early in 2020.

One evening, I was in the living room watching a movie. The way our sofa was angled, I had my back to the living room's doorway, so behind me was part of the hall that lead to the kitchen and front door. I distinctly heard quiet footsteps coming down the hall towards me. I spun around, convinced that Joe was creeping up on me to make me jump. I turned just in time to see a black shape disappear around the corner. I, naturally, thought he was trying to hide as I'd caught him and I yelled something to the effect of "You sneak!"

As I did, a little voice in my head said: "Imagine if that wasn't him?"

Sure enough, he calls "What did you say?" from the kitchen. I couldn't answer, my eyes were glued to the corner that the shape had vanished behind. I didn't go into any detail of this with my ex. He was a staunch non-believer.

The next 'big' incident was during lockdown. Joe was working nights, so I was alone in the flat.

Around 11pm I was watching a movie (again!) and paused it so I could go and fix myself a snack. I went to the kitchen cupboard, and turned around to face the kitchen doorway just in time to see a very solid, pitch black foot, from about mid calf down, out in the hallway. It appeared to me to be wearing a boot. Its heel came up in a very normal walking motion, and disappeared around the doorframe.

The flat was silent, yet I don't remember hearing any footsteps. I saw this face on, in my direct line of sight. My first thought was that Joe hadn't closed the door when he left for work and now someone's gotten in. I was terrified!

Then I remembered... I had locked the door behind Joe when he left. I called my mum, checked the flat, then stayed in the living room for the rest of the night with the door shut!

Not long after, my skeptic ex husband saw him. Out the corner of his eye, he saw a black shape, with legs moving in a slow walking motion. He was unsettled, I was just happy to know I wasn't going mental.

The final incident occurred before I moved out, and was when I managed to get a photograph. I'd started regularly taking photos in the hallway. Joe was using the restroom, so I decided to take the opportunity to snap a few. (He always made fun of me for taking photos, so I always did it when he wasn't present)

The last picture I took, regrettably, was in low light and not in good focus. I took it quickly, as I heard the signs that Joe was about to exit the bathroom. It's not a good picture, but there he was. A black figure in our stark white hallway, in a walking motion and what looks like a long coat. I will attach the picture, as well as a lightened version and a pic of that area of my hallway.

I never got the impression that he was aware of us. Perhaps the residual energy of someone from the past going about their business? I don't know, but he was always in the hall and always walking.

Paul: Thank you Amelia for this fascinating description of strange events. It is so like many other reports - which does not diminish it's value, it makes it even more compelling.

And yes, Don does publish as wide a range of reports on our website as possible.
